To see a World in a Grain of Sand
Captured on the shorelines of New Zealand this work explores Duality - Microcosm/Macrocosm, Light/Dark, Life/Death, Control/Chaos, Creation/Destruction. The transitory nature of our existence, and our impermanence within the flow of time, should give us all pause for thought and change. "I have long been fascinated by the William Blake poem 'The Auguries of Innocence' - especially its opening line -" 'To See a World in a Grain of Sand'. The Universe works expand this paradox to the stars. "I get distracted for hours on beaches, staring at fragments of nature and discovering the vast expanse of myriad existences hidden in plain sight. You can see the Cosmos in tiny particles, here on Earth. I want to connect people to the Universe and its infinite reach by hyper-focusing on the miraculous beauty of the infinitesimal."
